Crack Chicken Pastry Puffs

Crack Chicken Pastry Puffs

This quick and easy recipe combines the beloved flavors of chicken, cheddar cheese, bacon, and ranch in a warm, flaky puff pastry. Ready in under 30 minutes, these puffs are perfect as a snack, appetizer, or quick meal.

Ingredients:

1 (17.3-oz) package of puff pastry, defrosted

1¾ cups cooked, chopped chicken (rotisserie chicken recommended)

½ cup cooked, chopped bacon

1 cup shredded cheddar cheese

⅔ cup bottled ranch dressing

1 large egg

1 Tbsp water

Instructions:

1. Preheat Oven: Set your oven to 400ºF. Line baking sheets with parchment paper.

2. Prepare Pastry Squares: Unfold the puff pastry sheets and cut each sheet into 9 squares, yielding a total of 18 squares.

3. Make the Filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the chopped chicken, bacon, cheddar cheese, and ranch dressing.

4. Assemble Puffs: Arrange a spoonful of the chicken mixture diagonally across each pastry square. Fold two opposite corners over the filling and press the edges to seal. Place the filled squares on the baking sheet.

5. Egg Wash: Beat the egg with water and brush it over the top of each pastry to help them brown.

6. Bake: Bake the pastries for 15–18 minutes, or until golden brown.

7. Serve: Enjoy the puffs warm or at room temperature, served with extra ranch dressing for dipping if desired.

Tips & Variations:

Alternative Fillings: Add diced onions, spinach, or broccoli to the filling for added flavor.

When you’re ready to bake, just extend the baking time by a few minutes to ensure it’s fully cooked.

Sealing Tips: To prevent edges from opening, avoid overfilling, wet the edges before pressing, or use toothpicks.

Serving Suggestions: Pair with a light side like coleslaw, a simple salad, or a bowl of warm soup for a complete meal.
