Sautéed Green Beans Recipe
Ingredients
1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
1 tbsp olive oil (or butter for a richer flavor)
2 cloves garlic, minced
Salt and pepper, to taste
½ teaspoon red pepper flakes (optional for added spice).
1 tbsp lemon juice (optional for brightness)
Instructions
1. Blanch the Green Beans (Optional):
For an extra vibrant color and tender texture, blanch the green beans first.
Bring a pot of water to a boil, add the green beans, and cook for 2–3 minutes until they turn bright green.
Quickly drain and place into an ice bath to halt the cooking process. Drain again and set aside.
2. Sauté the Green Beans:
In a large skillet, heat olive oil (or butter) over medium-high heat.
Add the garlic and cook for 30 seconds until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
Add the green beans to the skillet, season with salt, pepper, and red pepper flakes if using.
3. Cook Until Tender:
Sauté the green beans for about 5–6 minutes, stirring occasionally, until they are tender-crisp.
Drizzle with lemon juice before serving, if desired.
4. Serve:
Serve hot as a side dish, and enjoy!
Tips:
For added flavor, sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese just before serving.
Sauté with sliced almonds or crispy bacon for extra texture.
