Smash Burger with Secret Sauce Recipe

Yields: 2 servings

Prep time: 15 minutes

Cook time: 10-12 minutes

Ingredients:

For the patties:

 * 1 pound ground beef

 * 1/2 teaspoon salt

 * 1/4 teaspoon black pepper

 * 4 slices American cheese

 * 2 brioche buns, toasted

For the secret sauce:

 * 1/4 cup mayonnaise

 * 1/4 cup ketchup

 * 1 tablespoon Dijon mustard

 * 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce

 * 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

 * 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder

Instructions:

 * Make the patties: In a medium bowl, combine ground beef, salt, and pepper. Mix gently until just combined. Divide the mixture into 4 equal patties.

 * Prepare the sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, ketchup, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, and garlic powder.

 * Cook the patties: Heat a cast-iron skillet over medium-high heat. Add the patties and smash them with a spatula to a thickness of about 1/4 inch. Cook for 3–4 minutes per side until evenly browned and thoroughly cooked.

 * Assemble the burgers: Place a slice of cheese on each patty and let it melt for a few seconds. Place the patties on the toasted buns and top with a generous amount of secret sauce.

 * Serve immediately.

Enjoy your delicious smash burgers!

Tips:

 * For a juicier burger, let the ground beef sit in the refrigerator for about 30 minutes before cooking.

 * Feel free to use any cheese of your choice for this recipe.

 * If you don’t have a cast-iron skillet, you can use a regular skillet or grill.

 * To make the burgers ahead of time, cook the patties and assemble the burgers, then store them in the refrigerator until ready to serve.
