Ingredients
- 1 cup (120g) all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup (100g) granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup (120g) plain Greek yogurt
- 1/2 cup (120ml) vegetable oil
- 3 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (150g) fresh strawberries, sliced
- Powdered sugar for dusting (optional)
Instructions
Prepare the Batter:
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
Grease and flour a 9-inch (23cm) round cake pan, or line it with parchment paper.
- In a large bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Mix well.
- In another bowl, whisk together the Greek yogurt, vegetable oil, eggs, and vanilla extract until well combined.
- Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and mix until just combined. Do not overmix.
- Gently fold in the sliced strawberries.
Bake the Cake:
- Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top with a spatula.
- Bake in the preheated oven for 30–35 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Remove the cake from the oven and let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes.
- Transfer the cake to a wire rack to cool completely.
Serve:
- Once the cake is cooled, dust it with powdered sugar, if desired.
- Slice the cake into serving pieces and enjoy!
