Sweet Baby Ray’s Crockpot BBQ Chicken
This Sweet Baby Ray’s BBQ Chicken recipe is a perfect option for easy, flavorful meals. With just a handful of ingredients, the slow cooker does all the work, producing tender, juicy chicken with the iconic taste of Sweet Baby Ray’s Original barbecue sauce. Great for family dinners or meal prep!
Ingredients:
4 large boneless, skinless chicken breasts (2 pounds), at room temperature
1 ½ cups Sweet Baby Ray’s Original BBQ Sauce (divided; 1 cup for cooking, ½ cup for serving)
2 tablespoons apple cider vinegar
¼ cup packed light brown sugar
1 teaspoon garlic powder
½ teaspoon onion powder
¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
Instructions:
Arrange the chicken breasts in a single layer at the bottom of a 4-5 quart crockpot.
Make the Sauce: In a small bowl, mix 1 cup of BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, and red pepper flakes.
Add Sauce to Chicken: Pour the sauce mixture over the chicken, ensuring each piece is well-coated.
Place the lid on the slow cooker and let it cook on the LOW setting.
Cook for 4-5 hours, until the chicken is tender and fully cooked (internal temperature should reach 165°F).
Finish with More BBQ Sauce: Add the remaining ½ cup of BBQ sauce over the cooked chicken. Turn the crockpot to HIGH and cook uncovered for 30-45 minutes, allowing the sauce to thicken.
Serve: Once the sauce has thickened, remove the chicken from the crockpot. Garnish with parsley if desired and serve hot.
